We have a Dominoes in Tura Beach already, if anything a Pizza Hut or a Sushi train would be more welcome and provide another food option after hours in Bega as the only 2 stores open late are Mcdonalds and KFC. Many other stores are not open on the weekend or late at night and others sit and remain empty. The other options are to drive all the way to Tura or Merimbula for food late at night if takeaway is required as some people shift work etc.
All recent comments on applications from Bega Valley Shire Council, NSW
Concur with the previous comment. Not conducive to Bega becoming a cultural centre for health and wellbeing. Alternative options already available.
Come on Council. How can your support another Fast food multinational company in our town. You did the wrong thing with Maccas. Do the right thing and put a stop to it.
We already have two Pizza shops, Maccas, KFC, several other fast food outlets.
Do we really need another option with our population more obese everyday?
After the great effort the planners have made to design an urban environment that provides green pathways that allows people to enjoy, wildlife to move in, vegetation to survive, all based on a planned population density to then turn around undermine the original plan and approve the precedence for increased urban density by way of subdivisions.
Let’s stay true to the original excellent intent of the development plan for Tura that we valued when we bought in to the area.
No to subdivisions.
It would be a great shame to approve subdivision and dual occupancy in this street.
The significant attraction of parts of Tura Beach is the fact that the land portions are large and allow a sense of space, a sense of rural style living in an urban environment which affords the services we need, especially as we grow older.
We have personally witnessed subdivision and dual occupancy in both Sydney and Canberra and there is absolutely no doubt that it lowers the standard of a suburb. In hindsight, I am sure that Councils, albeit that they have increased revenue, rue the day that this type of development was approved.
It is also a slap in the face for the current residents who have made the commitment, both financial and emotional, to invest in their future, their home, their surroundings, their community.
Subdivision and dual occupancy is about profit and greed, it is not about the quality of the environment, it is not about the suburb and certainly not about the community.
Please keep the part of Tura Beach that boasts generous parcels of land the way it is for those that wish to have the choice. Once the subdivisions start, the precedent will be set and they will continue.
It is a situation which can not be reversed, just like development on quality farming land. Once it is gone, it is gone forever.
Great to see our neighbours able to get through the DA process - desperately need more from council to help people get the rebuild going after the black summer fires - this area was never shown as fire effected before black summer - but was one of the worst hit due to pyro-cumulus - now we all battle to build with every thing against us - let us know if we can help - no one else is likely to!!
Having seen the drawings submitted for this application I have to ask myself why would ANYONE think this project is acceptable. Smack in the middle of Eden's historic precinct at a location where parking is already at an absolute premium and almost non existent on days when our nearby court is sitting. If this project is permitted to go ahead it will remain a blight on the adjacent well maintained Historic buildings.....UGLY
I notice that the location of this development is shown on the map as being at 16 Candelo St, Candelo.
Is this correct?
Because that places it right in the centre of Candelo.
But the address shown for the development is 105 Tarlintons Lane, which is actually about 7km to the west, in a much more rural area.
Obviously, it makes a difference.
I notice all the other DAs on this website seem to be accurately located on the map shown on the DA page. Just wondering why the location has been shown incorrectly as it may cause concern and objections that are not warranted.
