Tthe trees on the property are mature and a small collectionof only a few trees left near the waterfront in Double Bay.
Even more importantly, they are hone to a couple of families of rare Ring Tailed Possums who will die if their habitat is disturbed. There were two baby ring tails born just last spring (sept 2017) in the trees.
There is abundant widlife who will loose their home and die if these trees are not protected and preserved.
Amongst the collection of trees in which these endangered animals survive are evergreens such as jacaranda's, swiggly gums and palm trees.
Additionally, according to the plans there will be no allocation for flora nor fauna whilst the privacy of the occupants at 10 William St will be severely conpromised. The apartments will look face into the private living spaces of the neighbouring building with no respect nor concern shown for the pricacy of these tennants.
Unfortunately this looks more like a developer trying to maximize their own profit margins and floorspace at the expense of the tone of the neighbourhood, whilst bring nothing of credible value.
The complete absence of concern for the ambience or tone of the neighbourhood renders this to be a development very much misaligned with the objectives Woollahra Council claims to perpetuate of fostering an vital and respectful jewel of a bayfront experience in the vibrant epicentre of its locality.
