This car parked is already dangerous and has limited space.

The addition of the recycling machine at the end of the car park, whilst. Rey handy has already created more traffic and especially foot traffic

There is no where for pedestrians to walk safely through the car park as it is

It is very difficult to get parking near the library, child centre or community it’s centres as those car spaces are always full with staff cars

When pop up stalls appear in the car park from time to time it creates havoc and minimises parking in an already very full to capacity car park Parking is already at a premium in here and is constantly full

The addition of a car wash when there are 3 in the area just doesn’t make sense and is really a safety risk for all as well as just taking away from the other independent businesses in the area

I am very concerned about this proposal. It has become increasingly difficult to find parking at Menai Marketplace since we moved into the area in 2002. The recent addition of a recycling centre has taken away parking spaces and to propose removing further spaces to install a car wash would exacerbate the issue. There are already car washing facilities in the local area and there is no need to add another when what is really required is additional undercover parking. The current parking area is cramped and dangerous and provides no protection when it rains. Please address this problem rather than take measures which will contribute to further congestion at Menai Marketplace.

Ridiculous, there are already three car washes in Menai, we do not need a fourth one!!
A car wash in Menai Market place would take up valuable car spaces,
Council needs to increase car spaces at Menai not reduce them.

This is an absolutely ridiculous proposal which holds NO logic whatsoever. There is no community demand for another car wash facility, especially within the existing carpark. We have already recently lost car spaces to the new recycling depot. Any further loss of parking spots would be completely insane, in an already over crowded carpark.
More housing developments being built within the area, obviously creates more cars/traffic. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find a parking spot as it is.
Not quite sure why Council believes this to be a good idea??? I would think the majority of our local community would be very much against this.

Opposed. Parking issues and traffic congestion issues already exist and will be worsened by less parking spaces. The area already has car washing services at Bangor and Menai Central, as well as two service stations with car wash machines as well.

This is not required, there is two in close proximity (in Menai Central and Bangor shops) parking already does not meet demand and with the current growth in the area to loose spaces for this would be a ridiculous decision. This small car park already has to accomodate shops, library, health centre and community centre. More spots should be considered not a reduction

There is absolutely no need for another car wash in Menai. There are already two automatic car washes at the service stations on Allison Crescent and Carter Road and two hand wash cafes, one in Menai and one in Bangor. Traffic and parking are already a huge issue in and around Menai Marketplace. It will simply cause unnecessary traffic congestion and remove valuable parking spaces.

We have four car wash facilities within 1 km of that site and 4 cars spaces have already been lost through the Return and Earn recycling machine. lost more parking when the the petrol station and charity clothing was put in.

There is no need for a car wash in the Menai Marketplace car park or surrounds. There are plenty in the area - no one has ever to my knowledge felt the need for one.

It is already dangerous enough with the petrol station, for driving and pedestrians.

The direction & volume of traffic already through the roundabouts approaching the car park and the flow within the car park particularly around the petrol station is dangerous enough now.

There is absolutely no need for another facility in the area which would require its own flow of traffic - thereby adding to the congestion and danger caused by such an increase.

The shopping area and Parc Menai are family areas with many children in close proximity to the traffic. In no way would any responsible council allow a car wash built here under any of the circumstances listed above.

We do not need another car wash in an already congested car park
We have already lost car spaces to the recycling and with development in the area, traffic will just increase not decrease so to lose valuable car spots in an already busy centre is ridiculous
There are already 4 car washes in the area

We do not need another car wash in the 2234 area especially in the car park at Menai Market Place. There is enough car washing business in the area. What we do need is an area undercover for loading cars when shopping is finished, so we stay dry when it is raining

Being that there are 2 car washes already, why should there be another one? It’s already crazy enough without adding timed parking. How will everyone do their shopping in such a small time slot? And if you’re attempting to encourage people to buy local this is not going to help matters at all. Why make it like a Westfield other than a money grab? I remember the good old days when it was being built & I used to ride my bike around the parking lot. Things were so much better before commercialism. The shire is already packed & stressful enough, please don’t add this too.

A rediculous idea. We already have 4 car wash facilities, we don’t need another one. Car park isn’t just used for shoppers - there are medical facilities, community groups, childcare, library not to mention Parc Menai & the skate park, bottle recycling, petrol station & charity bin & the occasional pop up stalls all in the existing car park. The area is growing & surrounding streets are narrow & a bottle neck at the best of times. Build another level or 2. This is just another money grabbing exercise by greedy management to further stress out the residents. The shopping centre & car park is not Westfields. Council should not allow this, their getting enough of our rates from all the over development in our local area & the rest of the Shire. If it goes ahead it will impact on our hard working small businesses owners & staff who provide an excellent service in our shopping centre. There are other shopping centres within a short distance which shoppers will use.

Hard enough to park and there's already a carwash on the other side of the round about struggling for business. Bad idea.

This is a redundant development application as there is no demand for yet another car wash facility in the Menai/Bangor area. The other 4 facilities are often void of customers, with the peak demand time being on the weekend.
In addition, Menai Marketplace car park already has pressure from people using shopping and medical facilities, Parc Menai playground and open space, as well as the charity bins and the recently installed "Return and Earn" facility.
No demand for a service should result in "Application Declined" by Council.

Having lived and shopped in Menai since 1998 I am acutely aware of the increased congestion being experienced at Menai Marketplace on a daily basis. Before and after any public holiday is a nightmare. At Christmas we don't even bother to try and park and have a family member drive and pick us up instead. We have recently lost parking spots for the new recycling station and now are expected to roll over again so someone can build another car wash which is not needed and not wanted. Enough is enough. This is a bad proposal and should not be supported by council. We need more parking not less and existing car washes are ample for the community needs.

I see safety issues. The pedestrian access (or lack of) is already unsafe in that car park. Adding more “noise/activity” in an already crowded car park is unsafe and unnecessary.

Please do not add a car wash that is not needed here!! Think about improving the car park by maybe adding another level to provide more spots rather than taking them away!! What about providing an undercover area? Address issues that are of need first!

Please don't do this.
