Good afternoon,
I wish to voice my families objection to the proposed Blackrock Motor Resort.

As a resident of Wakefield and a land owner of the land that backs onto this development. we value the serenity of our village style community and all it had to offer.

Please see below the reasons we are opposing this development.

The noise generated by loud, high powered vehicles being driven at high speed consistently around a 4km track for hours on end, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The times are also concerning to us.
The noise generated by loud, high powered vehicles using the burn out pad which has been referred to as a skid pan
The noise of additional traffic, which will be a product of the development, coming from Wakefield Road and possibly Miller Road
*due to the contours of the surrounding landscape and position of our home we would be affected by the above

2. TRAFFIC
The increased number of vehicles travelling along Wakefield Road
The increased number of vehicles turning on to and from Rhondda Road
High possibility of increased traffic along Miller Road
*Wakefield and Miller Roads are poorly surfaced with mine subsidence issues even with the recent resurfacing of Wakefield Road, Miller Road has low visibility from Jefferson Road exit due to trees and a bend to the south of Jefferson, Rosina Road exit on to Wakefield Road also has poor visibility to the North due to trees and a crest
Its highly possible increased traffic will also flow from the Edgeworth.
UNDESIRABLE BEHAVIOR
There are already those that use these roads to speed and do burnouts on. Undoubtedly there will be more who will be attracted to the area if this facility goes ahead
POSSIBLE PROPERTY DEVALUATION
There is a considerable chance that if this facility goes ahead with all the noise and traffic it will generate that Wakefield housing prices will decline. There are no assurances that this will not happen.

I also believe that the proposal has many issues that need rectifying such as claims of low noise emissions, claims of their being surrounding industries, how many vehicles will be utilizing the facility and many more inconsistencies.
Although we are RU2 rural we are classified as residential and how something of this nature can possibly be considered by council in a residential area I would like clarified. I can not understand how a commercial development can be approved in an area zoned RU2 and SP1 (Mining).

I concur with Dane and Kalinda's comments re the proposed DA of Blackrock Motor resort. As a resident of Teralba we will also be affected by
a) the noise and
b) increased traffic flow.
There appears to be so many unanswered questions and my family and I definitely object to such a development.

Paul dodd I all for it. I feel it is a positive for our area we are no longer a industrial area as a hole, the opportunities for employment to build and to run and visitors to come and spend money in our area is a good thing. I have lived in teralba for opx 48 years and as a school kid I use to stay on farm at wakefield the traffic is increasing in all our area you only have to look at the 5 iland rd to see how the traffic has increased on all our roads even our back roads. Wakefield had a open cut coal mine for years makeing dust and pollutants in the air around the area. The poor visibility raised at the intersection's should've been put to the council before now I am shore the police well be around a lot more if the park goes ahead to stop that sort of thing. I think the park should have a big dirt wall on south\ western end to help with noise for the houses near the park with lots of trees to help, like sydney motor sport park. The fume's could not be any worse than when the old rhonda coilery was on fire and wind blow the wrong way toward the houses. I dont believe there will be something on evey day of the year. The skid pan is a good thing they cover it in water and train young drivers and old drivers to drive on wet track to make all the drivers better at controlling the car.

I am writing to put my support behind the proposed Motorsport park in Wakefield.

I believe adding an easily accessible motorsport park to the Hunter Valley will provide a great avenue for many people, young and old alike to to race in a safe and secure situation.

This has the massive potential to save lives and it's our responsibility to provide a location with protections and safety where people can engage in motorsport.

As a motoring enthusiast I'm extremely excited about having a location in our local area where I can take my motorbike and car.

I appreciate you taking the time review this email.

Kind regaqrds,
Mitchell Patterson

I am a resident of Wakefield & find it very disappointing that my 1st Submission was ignored & that we have to resubmit. In my first submission I suggested that operating hours & days available should be greatly reduced. 365 days a year ! What about respecting those special days of the year ? Also all of the daylight hours should not have to endure the noise of speeding cars ! There would be no reprieve for anyone in the local community.
This development is not what Wakefield is about ! This is a unique rural community extremely close to Newcastle that has maintained its rural charm. This development will generate noise, which will totally change the ambience of our rural community. The increased traffic on our local roads that hikers, cyclists, horse riders use will be putting people at risk of accidents.
This development will not be offering the local community any benefits, it is taking away from us. Lake Mac should be supporting the local community & oppose this development. A development of this nature is not appropriate in rural zoning.
People who support this obviously don't live in the immediate vicinity. It is certainly not a green development with fuel emissions, excess noise. This will not be encouraging wildlife back into the local area.
Property sales are already showing signs of adverse effects just in the development application stage.
I totally oppose this development.

My family completely support the application for the Motorsport Park. Taking speed off the streets and encouraging driver education and driver training & safety can only be seen as a positive. Currently, there is a huge catchment area between Sydney & Queensland that does not have a motorsport park for public use. The money generated directly and indirectly locally would be a huge economic boost for the local area. Other countries are very supportive of such developments and recognise the proven benefits as well as supporting a sporting community.

I bought my first house in Wakefield and have lived here for about 35
years so I have knowledge of the area.

Growing up in Toronto I was attracted to the Wakefield area due to its
location and amenity - a very peaceful rural bushland setting.

The continual erosion of the amenity in Wakefield has been insidious and
to hear of this development in this area is the last straw. We are still
enduring the mining impacts e.g. recent completion of approx $20000 rehabilitation work to Diega Creek on my property, subsidence holes and cracks are still occurring after all these years despite the "authorities" assuring us it would only be a short term problem.

Firstly I believe this development is located in an unsuitable area in the
context of the majority of Wakefield residents' concerns mentioned at
two community meetings. Please find a suitable area as an alternative
where residents will not be affected by noise from the proposed site,
increased traffic volumes/noise and associated risks to life and
property, negative environmental impacts both flora and fauna as well as
possible pollution of household (tank) water supply etc.

This development, if it goes ahead here in Wakefield, will be like going
back to the future - our own "Pasminco" will be here. An absurd
situation can be avoided by making the right decision with hindsight and
foresight.

Perhaps a more carbon neutral development would be more appropriate in
keeping with the LMCC 2050 plan. Something that the Wakefield residents
would probably accept.

Secondly an alternative site must be considered in any case as the $70 million proposed Fassifern to Hexham rail corridor bisects the Black Rock Motor Park track! Preservation of the Lower Hunter Freight Corridor is an Action in the NSW Freight and Ports Strategy, the State Infrastructure Strategy and a ‘high priority initiative’ in Infrastructure Australia’s Infrastructure Priority List.

I support yeah yeah
Great for community
Some people can’t help
Themselves
They’d winge no matter what
What’s the difference between the
Rev heads doing illegal burnouts
During the day & night on main roads
Where this will be a controlled
Environment Great for the
Tourism 👍

I competed in motorsport for more than 40 years & have seen the rise& fall of many tracks in that time...
I was also involved in the eventual approval by local council of a drag racing facility on 305 acres of land at Italia Road, north of Raymond Terrace many years ago but, unfortunately, our backer decided to support the dragway at Sydney instead, due to the council waffling on with approval...
Of course there will always be the NIMBY's (Not In My Back Yarders) but this type of development will bring untold millions into the western Lake Macquarie area...
And the council also has to consider the motels, food establishments, garages & other budinesses that will benefit from this plan, let alone the ongoing staff that it will employ...
Awabawac Park, Westlake Automobile Club's Wilton Road motorsport complex, has already been operating Rallysprint, Khanacross & Motorkhanas on 45 acres opposite the Awaba rubbish disposal area for over 40 years & had a few NIMBY's complain that they would lose sleep, put their chickens off laying, would pollute the air, etc, etc, etc if it was built, yet not one person has been affected by Awabawac Park...
My 2 cents...

Hi. I'm all for it...so long as all the cars are electric. The skid pan idea though seems man-childish and environmentally irresponsible to me. Driver training? Don't we all have that before we're issued a licence?
