I am devastated that this may happen. As a local who has lived in Moorebank for 21 years im sad to see so many places i grew up with being knocked down for some 'modern' cheap, cold looking 'text book' building with no personality like the high-rise across the road that was so poorly made the roof fell apart in the first storm.
A concern is that this building will look into the school yard and across into neighbors yards for streets on end. It will also provide yet MORE traffic into Moorebank and will also bring the approval of more Building's like it once /if these two go up.
Approving the construction of these high rise buildings will only take away from Moorebanks aesthetics and personality
I understand that things need to move on, grow and change, but i dont think a high rise is the best way to 'update' Moorebank.

I object to this development with the major concern being the incredible congestion of traffic that would result. Nuwarra Road is a major thoroughfare with a large volume of double b trucks. A local school is in extremely close proximity in Maddecks Avenue as well as a community centre, library and shopping centre. It is always a heavy traffic area and the additional traffic and parking that this development would bring unthinkable. Even though I live in Wattle Grove I travel along these roads every day and the volume of traffic is very heavy.

I object to this proposal due to traffic concerns in the main. The development if approved would be disastrous particularly for Lucas, McKay and Maddecks Avenues with obvious flow on effects further afield . The community will be impacted especially those with children that drop their children off to the Nuwarra Primary School in the morning and pick up in the afternoon.
The author of the Social Impact Assessment clearly does not live in the area or knows very little of the difficult traffic flows in this area.
The Safe Schools legislation that provides safety for our children in school zones with speed limits etc should not be jeopardised by allowing additional and concentrated vehicle exits in their immediate vicinity.
Lucas Ave forms the eastern border of the school. It is a narrow carriageway that allows traffic to leave Maddecks so as not to clog up Maddecks when children are being dropped off to school and at pick up times.
After all the recent Dan Murphy Development Application in 2014 was rejected by council in part because of the proposed increased traffic onto Lucas Ave.

The author of the Social Impact Assessment that was submitted to Council as part of the DA stated that 'the development will not present any unsatisfactory traffic implications'.

Lucas Ave is a narrow carriageway which borders the eastern side of the school and takes a lot of traffic off and reduces the congestion from Maddecks Avenue.
According to the design, the only vehicle entrance and egress is positioned on Lucas Ave at the south end approximately 30 metres from the intersection of Maddecks and Lucas Avenues therefore all vehicles in and out of this development will travel on Lucas.
The Safe Schools legislation that provides safety for our children in school zones with speed limits etc should be protected and not be jeopardised by allowing additional and concentrated vehicle exits in their immediate vicinity.
After all, the recent Dan Murphy Development Application in 2014 was rejected by council, in part, because of the proposed increased traffic onto Lucas Ave.

On behalf of my elderly parents I object vigorously to these developments in the form they are being presented. Our family has been a part of Moorebank in Lucas avenue since its inception in 1969. The suburb , particularly around the community centre, library and Nuwarra Public School simply cannot stand this gross imposition on the amenity to the area. Primarily there is the major problem of traffic, both on the main road and actually into the Maddecks Ave and Lucas Ave junctions -particularly around school times. At peak times the local streets cannot handle a further impost of traffic - particularly now as Nuwarra has to also deal with heavy traffic blending into the local traffic in the new suburbs popping up in that area. Should the proposed recycling Plant and the "White Elephant" suburb-destroying Intermodal terminal go ahead the suburb will become a traffic nightmare ..leaving aside the Heavy B's etc there will be a huge increase in lighter van and truck traffic as people try to thread their way in and out of the proposed sites.
Aesthetically speaking the hi-rise projects will look out of place in a dormitory suburb. These cheaply built monstrosities are built to a price and as recent debacles have shown they will not stand up to any hard weather .
They will have a commanding view of everyone's back yards and the schools -privacy will become a thing of the past.
The sheer volume of these proposed edifices will impinge on the environmental comfort of the area Sun will be blocked from the neighboring gardens and Noise levels will substantially increase -both from the people moving there ie from their regular noise of so many people living in close proximity to one another, their traffic and the background noise levels caused by airconditioners etc .

Lastly one cannot make observations about the general degrading of the standards of appearances etc should this project go ahead. The quite suburban appeal of the area will be destroyed completely -witness the charmless excesses of the areas in Liverpool where low cost - hi rise apartment dwelling has been allowed to develop. crime, noise, untended gardens, rubbish placed on the street by people who don't know any better, washing hanging in balconies etc etc . My elderly parents DO NOT WANT the suburb they helped create , the one they brought their kids up in , to degenerate in a seedy, slum. They realise realities demand a move away fro the ozzie quarter acre bungalow - but 6&7 story slum hi-rises are NOT the answer to this enclave ....
