I like this idea. I think many locals living in the area would like it too. I would support all of the uses contained in this proposal. As long as many of the events are free for people, I fully support the proposal and think it's a good use of the space.

I love this idea and the initiative for the area. It's a vibrant and exciting space and the community definitely benefits from activations such as this.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the existing markets held at Central Park and I hope to see many more exciting initiatives for us local residents to liven up our spaces.

What a great idea - I whole heartedly support this.

I think the plan for markets and events in this space would be a valuable asset to the community and an excellent way to promote local business.

These types of initiatives are important to keep our local community vibrant.

I think the Brewery Yard Markets and Central's other outdoor initiatives are fantastic for the residents of Central Park, Chippendale and the Inner-West, and are helping support the City of Sydney's international reputation for world-class cultural and community projects.

The markets are very respectful to residents by keeping reasonable trading hours (between 10am and 4pm) and ensuring every stallholder complies to strict presentation guidelines (the area is always kept clean and the stalls always look fantastic). At every event there is acoustic live music by excellent local musicians and art demonstrations from up-and-coming Sydney artists, which are enjoyed by visitors and residents alike.

I fully support this proposal and think it is an excellent utilisation of the space. I look forward to being at the markets on the 1st and 3rd sunday of every month this year!

I think this whole development have turned out to be an ugly eye sore, the original plan for for a different number of units but they twisted and turned and now it is horrible. It remind me of the pigeon holes older people have to live in in some Asian countries. I do not know if the town planners in Sydney council approved such a horrible place on purpose or they were forced by the size and money power of the developer...
What a shame that a unique opportunity to make an icon was turned into an eye sore...
I think it should be denied because they have done enough damage as is without trying to make it a catchment place

Being a Chippendale resident for a long period of time, and very recently moving out of the area, has made me appreciate the positive impact that community initiatives such as this has on the area itself. Utilisation of the green area there at Central Park was the best thing to happen to the area since the emergence of art galleries such as NG and White Rabbit. The wider community was calling out for a way to establish a local sense of belonging, which I feel the markets achieve with ease. I don't see any reason why this idea of community development (especially when it is a free event accessible by the entire community) should be denied.

I have taken a number of my friends from outside of the inner-city to the Brewery Yard Markets a few times and every time they have commented on the sense of community togetherness it brings. Local artists now have a hub they can visit to demonstrate their talent, and Sydney musicians are always playing great acoustic music which draws a crowd every time the markets are on.

I fully support this idea!

This sounds like an excellent way to bring Chippendale and the broader suburbs together at a fun, vibrant community event. Having events such as this on the weekend is an excellent way for young families and friends to meet up in a convenient location, and if handled well, this would be a great place to hang out!

If this is free to go to, I can't see the problem? Having some live music and attractions, plus shopping, would be a great day out in Sydney. I'll definitely be going!

I think this sort of initiative is what makes the Chippendale area so vibrant and liveable. With such a great space available it would be a waste not to use it for something like this.

looking forward to it.

The Brewery Yard markets have achieved in a mere 4 months what many temporary markets cannot achieve in multiple years. Flawless presentation and merchandising, quality musical entertainment, a high standard of stallholders, and a seamless integration with the adjacent connecting Central Park shopping centre is what sets this marketplace apart.

The markets are quickly becoming a fortnightly Sunday destination for local residents in the know as well as foodies and market hunters from Sydney and beyond. If they continue to grow at the pace they are currently - they will certainly (and quickly) become one of Sydney's premier weekend marketplaces.

There's absolutely no question these markets are an exceptionally positive cultural contribution to not only the suburb of Chippendale, but to Sydney's entire market scene.

This is a brilliant initiative to activate what would otherwise be a vacant, under utilised space. The proposed activities are considerate of the residents in the area and create an environment for residents as well as the wider community to connect and engage in a fun community event. It's great to see initiatives like this put forward to help support City of Sydney's international reputation for world-class cultural and community projects.

The Brewery Yard Markets are a fantastic initiative. It has provided local residents and the wider community an amazing social and cultural experience every fortnight for the past few months. Within the Chippendale area, there are limited opportunities for Sunday activities provided by the Council or local residents. These markets have filled a huge void left vacant for so long. As the area has become more established so has the markets. Competing with the likes of Glebe markets, Paddington and Bondi markets, they will certainly attract larger crowds from diverse areas. This application should certainly proceed to ensure the Chippendale area offers varying cultural and social experiences to the wider community.

This market is exactly what this area has been missing. I would be absolutely devastated if such a transformative initiative did not continue. We are lucky to live in a city that supports local innovation and culture.

I look forward to attending the Brewery Yard Markets every fortnight. The event is extremely well conducted and it is clear that much effort goes into the selection of stallholders and the overall presentation of the markets.

The markets are inclusive of and free to all members of the community and have become the ideal destination for a relaxing Sunday in Sydney. Overall, it's a fantastic initiative.

It is unfortunate to hear that the use of this space has attracted anything but praise given the manner in which it is conducted. All events there are well-run and low impact on the local community, as well as being great additions to the social calendar. Sydney needs more entrepreneurial activities such as those that utilise this area.

The markets at Chippendale behind Central Park bring a much-needed community feel to the area. It provides a great space for people to gather and hang-out on the weekends, and the green space behind the building was never used up until the markets came around.

The markets are always superbly presented. I've been to other markets around Sydney and none are as clean or aesthetically pleasing as these ones are.

This proposal sounds like it will bring a bit of culture and spirit to an area dominated by concrete and large buildings. I'm all for it.

In such a big and busy city, it is so lovely to have a space such as markets in Central Park to escape to. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere created by the Brewery Yard Markets is exactly what this part of the city needs.

I live just outside the city and usually avoid coming into the city on the weekends as it is so commercialised and feels like a concrete jungle. Since the Brewery Yard Markets have opened, I find that I look forward to going in as it's a convenient and central place to catch up with friends, the food is delicious and the live music creates such a relaxing feel.

Any event that brings a community together is worth investing in. The music and art attractions are exactly the type of cultural event that this part of the city would benefit from.

The many activities conducted in Central Park, in particular the Brewery Yard Markets, have contributed significantly to the sense of community in the broader area.

As a person who frequents markets right across Sydney, it has been absolutely astonishing to see such a diversity of vendors, performers and visitors gravitate to an event so quickly after its establishment. It has without doubt become a fortnightly institution and a highlight of the community social calendar.

The Brewery Yard Markets and other events which are held at Central Park are the envy of communities right across Sydney. They encourage and enhance what is already a culturally diverse community and for that we should be grateful.

For these reasons, and many others, I sincerely hope the City of Sydney not only approves this application, but helps to grow and develop similar initiatives within its jurisdiction.

Ditto all the positive praise for the Brewery Yard markets. They provide a wonderful opportunity for locals and visitors to come together to shop, dine and listen to music. The markets are held at reasonable times and intervals and are the most well presented markets I've seen around Australia. As a market lover and a recent Sydney-sider the markets are an inner-city haven not be missed!

I am a resident of the Chippendale area and I always look forward to spending my Sundays at the Brewery Yard Markets.

These markets provide a fantastic sense of community. Not only the Chippendale locals, but people from all parts of Sydney are making the journey over to the Brewery Yard to listen to and support local artists and businesses.

Being a small business owner myself, I am a firm believer in encouraging unique talents to really showcase their work. Therefore, I have grounds to show my support from not only the resident side but a business angle too.

The curators of the Brewery Yard Markets appear to have strict guidelines when it comes to the presentation of the yard. Each market, I am surprised to see the white tents perfectly aligned with beautiful wooden chalk boards celebrating the stalls behind them.

Overall, the Brewery Yard Markets are an absolutely fantastic initiative for the suburb of Chippendale.

The Markets are a fantastic community initiative and are professionally run and enjoyed by all. In order to compete with other suburbs, it is imperative that the council continue to support such initiatives so as to enhance and grow the sense of belonging in the community. Further, these markets are a great avenue to support local business who otherwise may not have the opportunity to sell to the marketplace.

I have been to these Markets and have enjoyed supporting an initiative set-up and run by young people - showing both enthusiasm and entrepreneurship
