It seems that lots of 300sqm & the removal of native vegetation (sadly including eucalyptus trees) is becoming normal practice in a region that prides itself on being environmentally friendly, ecologically aware & protective of biodiversity that is fundamental to healthy living!
We can hope the planning is sensible with a well built development in character with the site & including wide tree canopy lined streets? But experience questions the sensibility of developers & VCAT & Councils. When our green spaces are compromised, water polluted, nature mocked, wildlife disregarded, litter overlooked.. & then bad planning, poor infrastructure & cost increases in everything are allowed to dominate it’s no surprise we’re heading for more chaos. A few good practices don’t make messy decisions right. Hope this will be a wise development but have my doubts.
