Hi,
Can you pls tell me why there was no notification of this prior to alterations starting? This notice should have been given to all neighbours prior to starting which we all noticed have started already!

Totally agree with Todd. Why were we not informed? Basically this is saying I can add an extension to my property without getting pre approval from council?? Works need to be ceased until plans viewed and if required disputed. Thank you
Todd/Helen
Neighbours are not informed when an application is lodged under a Complying & Development
Complying development is a combined planning and construction approval for straightforward development that can be determined through a fast-track assessment by a council or an accredited certifier. Complying development applies to homes, businesses and industry and allows for a range of things like the construction of a new dwelling house, alterations and additions to a house, new industrial buildings, demolition of a building, and changes to a business use.
I dont like it either, but them the rules.
Todd/Helen.
Have a read through this to understand it better.

Hi Craig,
Are you council/certifier or ?
Hello Todd.
Not either.
Im just well versed on the subject now.
I live near LeStrange park & a heap of developers are now building duplexes in my st. I had to learn a lot quickly when a DA was lodged for duplex for nextdoor.
But yes, for a Complying development, you just lodged your application with council or use a private certifier (this is the best option) and as long as everything meets standard, your application is fast tracked and passed without neighbours being informed. The first they find out is when work normally starts.
There are a few street within the flight path that Complying development can’t be lodged and development application is the only processes. But this is all subjected to the type of work being carried out.
Good luck
Craig..appreciate your reply. You’ve provided more information than the council (with all due respect to council )
