This house was demolished in June this year, as well as removing a very large eucalypt tree from the back yard which had "conveniently" died a few months prior. A private certifier was involved. Why is there now an application to demolish it?

Unfortunately Ryde Council has lost control of many Builders and Developers who appear to be closing streets with no notification to neighbours or following correct procedures; using the footpath and roadway as part of the construction site forcing pedestrians to change to the opposite side of the road and all done without approval; remove fully grown trees without approval or even making an application; constructing basement car parks in R2 residential zones when they are non-compliant; no notification to adjoining properties that a DA has been submitted and neighbours only find out through Planning Alerts or when construction begins, then too late to make a submission or inspect plans.
I vote for Ryde Council to reinstate Building Inspectors and get rid of Private Certifier's
