I am not opposed to the development however I would like as a condition of the permit that prior to any demolition works, a full hazardous material audit be undertaken and any dangerous materials be removed by a licensed contractor.
I am concerned that with the demolition of the site, there maybe asbestos present in the building and given we drive by this site daily and our children play in the park next door to it, it may expose people to it.
