I don't believe this! It is completely outrageous that this permission is being sort. The building has already exceeded the zoning. How on earth can the residents stop this incremental creep on the height of this building. It has already been subject to a height change by variation to the original planning application - and now this additional floor. I live immediately next to this development, it has already robbed the residents living at the top of Colley Lane of most of our afternoon winter sunlight - if this variation is approved there will be nothing left.

We vehemently object to this additional application.

The original application has previously been the subject to a height change and variation.

Now a further change to add, yet another level.

We own the townhouse adjacent to this new development.

Please refer to our original objection. We expressed concerns to the original application and and the additional application and now we have an application for a further level on top of that.

We are concerned that we will:
1. lose more sunlight, and we will be shadowed by the towering building
2. have more traffic congestion
3. have more services coming along the already congested Colley Street
4. further lose privacy to our kitchen, living area and upstairs bedrooms
5. lose privacy to our outdoor courtyard
6. it is not in keeping with the heritage buildings in the area
7. be required to put up with an increase the end completion date
8. be required to put up with the builders and tradesmen who work outside regulated
hours
9. lose quiet enjoyment of our premises.

We are concerned that the building has already exceeded the zoning.

We are concerned that Council, SA Planning Authorities and other government bodies associated with this development, do not care and are not taking into account the residents in the area.

I urge everyone involved in judging this to reject this absurd application. It already breaches zoning laws and has caused huge anxiety and continuing anguish. This is another nail in the coffin of democracy, fairness and legitimate interpretation of the planning act..it ignores everything we understood about honesty, civic duty and fails the pub test .

The street access is already compromised in terms of safety and noise and the application is simply opportunistic and self-justified on greed and economy. We have already lost housing value, amenity with noise and loss of sunlight and privacy in a heritage precinct.

Residents are being ignored again.

Reject the application.

I utterly object to this application to further increase height. It is foul play to attempt to breach the height regulations yet again during building.

I live in Mackinnon Parade and find this whole development appalling. It is totally out of character for this end of Melbourne St and has a huge impact on the residential properties in Mackinnon Parade which are unfortunate enough to back onto this monstrous project.

Buildings of this nature are destroying the harmony and culture of lower North Adelaide.

I object strongly to an additional floor on this building. It is high time that the planning authority enforced the height regulation instead of bending the rules. The shadowing of the nearby residents and obstruction to natural light is a concern. No matter how often we are "consulted" about new buildings in North Adelaide we are ignored. Colley Street is not wide enough to accommodate the extra traffic generated and the noise will certainly impact on the residents in the area. I live on MacKinnon Parade and on this occasion not directly impacted but many of my neighbours most certainly are.

I do totally object to this proposal.
This building is another big step in ruining the wonderful ambience of living in North Adelaide and I hope with all my heart that it does not succeed.
The residents will currently be able to see into the whole back of my townhouse, balcony, and rear courtyard and this will only exacerbate matters further, plus further blocking out my view of the lovely western sky.
Please do not let it go through.
Thank you for listening.

We totally object to this sly application for an additional level to an already too high building. This building breaks the zoning rules for this area with 7 stories, with further loss of privacy to many residents in the area, us being one of them. We will have an extra 6 families looking down onto and into our property.
More noise and inconvenience will come from the additional cars, maybe 12 more parking in the area because of the difficulty passing through Colley St to this property.
The foundations must have been designed for 8 levels as they have been completed, this is a disgusting abuse of the original application and must not be approved.

We would like to record our strong objection to the proposed height increase of 69- 71 Melbourne Street.
The proposed added storey further compromises the privacy of homes on Dunn St, Colley St and Mackinnon Parade and this has been totally ignored in all submissions.

We strongly oppose the proposed variance to DA 020/A097/18.

The approved plans were already setting a dangerous precedent for the height of buildings in lower North Adelaide, and this variance just compounds the issue. What is the rationale for this increase, and why was the height not eight stories initially? This seems like an attempted "end around" to zoning restrictions.

The project was concerning enough at seven stories, so eight stories even more of an insult to the local neighbourhoods.

We oppose this variation.
