This is the orginal Boyd's family home. Built in 1916.
If the new owners wanted to modify the house, they simply should have bought another house. The development / modifications damage the look / feel of the Historic home
I feel that there request should be denied for these reasons.
The fence, there is nothing wrong with it... Why change something that is not damaged and looks fine.

I wish to support the comments of Bruce, in particular, that the street appeal of the home, would be damaged by the replacement of the fence and other changes. The home has considerable relevance to the artistic and heritage-minded community of Murrumbeena. It is a lovely example at the moment IMHO (in my humble opinion) of marrying the visible street appeal of the original home with native plantings and the owner's modern requirement for off-street parking for 3-4 cars. Walking by today you can see the senior Boyds sitting on the verandah and surveying the Australian scene.
