I am against this development due to it's height and unsightly design, and does not comply with the current building height code which has been in place for many years, including much input from the local residents. This building will be an eyesore and is purely for the satisfaction of a the marina, currently in receivership. There is currently sufficient accommodation for tourists visiting the Whitsundays, which includes the current number of ABnB's (approx 1000 by now and still growing). Carparking is insufficient in Airlie Beach as it its, and the BnB's in the suburbs are creating more traffic congestion - parking in local streets.
I believe the height of this proposed new development at the Cove/Port of Airlie could be lowered to the current height of 4 stories.
