Here we go again.
I have been forewarning Council since the application for Bergman went in that approval of that development would open the floodgates via legal precedent, and again as recently as last week to Council plus our local Councillor following the court decision.
It appears that the only protection available to Council is a height restriction.
This is not the Village to which I thought I was moving many years ago.
Perhaps you should seek feedback from those residents living in and closely around the Village to gauge their opinion on this substantial change to the village character and then do something about tightening up the regulations.
We are already seeing the Developers moving in with not so subtle signs of land grabs and preliminary activity. Trentham is obviously high on the agenda, a block is apparently being prepared for sub-division in Narrien, the block in Station for which an approved development has already been approved has shown no signs of movement (probably awaiting the decision on Bergman prior to resubmitting a revised application), the block next to us at 29 Main Street would be a perfect location for 30+ townhouses with a deal done for an access out to Narrien, and of course the Comiskey's are not beyond offering to build a new rugby league field slightly out of town to get their hands on that particularly juicy piece of property.
I hope Council has given some thought to how you are going to address traffic and parking issues within Samford Village, and how you are going to address infrastructure capacity with water, power, sewerage and drainage.
